Jason Dohring
Jason Dohring was born Jason William Dohring on March 30, 1982 in Toledo, Ohio. He is the son of former
Neopets chairman Doug Dohring and wife Laurie, and the eldest of five children. His siblings are two sets of identical twins - one set of boys, one set of girls; Robert and Jonathan Dohring, and Kelsey and Kirsten Dohring. Both set of twins were child actors, as was Dohring. He is a second-generation Scientologist, an expert skier and also enjoys snowboarding, water skiing, golf and boxing. He married his wife Lauren in 2004 and currently, they have no children.
Jason got his start in commercials and then moved onto a number of small roles in movies and television. He has appeared on a number of television series, including
Roswell,
100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd,
Cold Case,
Judging Amy and many others. He has also starred in the feature films
Walking on Water,
Train Quest,
Deep Impact,
Black Cadillac,
The Deep Below and
Broken Record, as well as the Disney Channel movie,
Ready To Run.
He is best known for his role as Southern Californian rich kid
Logan Echolls on the television series
Veronica Mars. The show was originally shown on UPN until the network's closing, and was renewed for a third season in 2006 and on a new network, The CW. In 2006, Dohring was nominated for an Ivy award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his work in Veronica Mars. In 2007, he starred in a straight-to-DVD release,
The Deep Below.
After the cancellation of
Veronica Mars, Jason found work with Warner Bros. and CBS, co-starring in the television series
Moonlight. He played the vampire
Josef Kostan, a mischievous 400 year old hedge-fund trader.
In October 2008, it was announced that Jason would return to TV as Spencer, a senior legislative assistant, on the new HBO comedy
Washingtonienne.
